Findindonesia.com – Indonesia is a country that is famous for having various types of unique foods. Each region has its own special food. In 2018, last year, Ministry of Tourism Republic of Indonesia officially designated 5 authentic foods as INDONESIAN NATIONAL FOODS.

This designation aims to strengthen the image of Indonesian food abroad so that foreign tourists or a foreign traveler or foreign food blogger getting to know these foods are typical foods from Indonesia.

The fact that tourists generally not only visit landmarks of a country but spend a lot of time on culinary. Especially tourists who are also food bloggers, food travelers or food reviewers.

As Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya said on www.indonesia.travel that Indonesia’s culinary presentations have become an important part of Indonesia’s Tourism. “The more our food is extensively known in the world, the more people will be drawn to come and visit our country”.

Well, friends, these are 5 Indonesian foods which are designated as Indonesian National Foods.

1. Rendang

Rendang, the best Indonesian national food

Who is the Indonesian who never knows Rendang? Ah, I think no one, of course, because of Rendang the most famous food in Indonesia.

Rendang is actually the original food of the Minang people, who live in Padang city, Province of Western Sumatra. But now you will find it easy in all regions in Indonesia, especially in the Padang restaurant.

Not only in Indonesia, rendang with its unique taste and made with many spices is also very famous in the world. Rendang has been ranked first, 2 times, in 2011 and last 2017 as the best food in CNN’s World’s 50 Best Foods.

That’s why Rendang is always served in every Indonesian restaurant in the whole world. Well, if you haven’t, you should try it. Trust me, it’s a very delicious dish..!

2. Nasi Goreng

In the second place, CNN’s World’s 50 Best Foods 2017 was Nasi Goreng. Nasi Goreng and Rendang which came on the top two of the list, after CNN conducted a poll on Facebook’s popular social media with 35,000 votes.

Actually, many countries have their own menu of  Nasi Goreng, but the taste of Indonesian Nasi Goreng is very typical. The distinctive marinade made from many spices making it the best in the world. Even, Indonesian Nasi Goreng is also favored by the 44th president of the United States of America, Barracks Obama.  

3. Sate

Sate, what is sate? Sate or better known as satay may sound strange to foreign tourists who have never been to Indonesia. Satay is a small piece of meat that is burned then served with peanut sauce, soy sauce and other spices mixture.

Simple, but Indonesian satay is really different than others. Because it definitely fits all people’s tongues. As well as Rendang and Nasi Goreng, Satay is the most popular Indonesian food in the world.

This is proven, in CNN’s World’s 50 Best Foods 2017, Sate Indonesia gets the position of 14th of the Best Food in the world. Because of this great achievement, Satay is quite appropriate to be crowned as one of the national foods.

Satay in Indonesia very diverse types. Indonesia has many types of satay but the famous and most popular are Sate Madura, Sate Padang, and Sate Ponorogo.

4. Soto

The next one which was crowned as national food is Soto. The reason is the same. it feels good. The taste of spices is so strong, but it feels refreshing. Suitable on the tongue of Indonesian and foreign people.

Indonesia has at least 50 types of Soto from various regions with distinctive flavors. For example Soto Madura, Soto Jawa, Soto Betawi (Jakarta), Soto Lamongan, Soto Makasar (Coto).  Each of the Soto became the pride of their respective regions. Even so, at the world level, these gravy foods make Indonesia proud.

5. Gado-gado

Gado-gado made from half-cooked vegetables, then poured with delicious peanut sauce. Foreign food bloggers or food travelers called it Indonesian Salad.

What’s interesting about Gado-gado? This food is made from vegetables, which has a very unique taste. And most importantly according to the tastes of foreign people who generally like vegetables.

    1. To become a reliable blogger, at first we must learn to write, yes, write things we like. after that we just create a blog, it’s better if you use wordpress, it’s easier, safer and more comfortable. Some blogs that I work on are blogs with material that I understand.
